The small village of medieval origins of Sassofeltrio, on the border between Marche and Emilia-Romagna, still preserves intact the original structure of the historic center. This undiscovered town is an interesting destination for its good cuisine and the renowned sulfur and alkaline water source in Valle Sant'Anastasio.
Historical sources mention it since 756 A.D. when Sassofeltrio became part of the State of the Church. Over the years the prestigious fortress fell into ruin.
