The locality owes its name to the trees, that is to the woods that have always surrounded it. In the Middle Ages the village was surrounded by walls, to defend the community and the goods, still evident in their entirety.
The village is largely surrounded by walls of the Malatesta era, which in addition to its architectural interest have that of a panoramic balcony overlooking the coast of Rimini and the Conca valley.

In the center of the village, along the provincial road 31, stands the beautiful facade of the village equipped with a tower Portaia of the sixteenth century, raised and equipped with a clock in the eighteenth century.
By using the ancient moat located along the south side of the walls of the fortified village of San Savino, at the end of the eighteenth century was created a wine cellar which is still operating and has been managed by the Pasini family for decades.
Inside there is a collection of hundreds of photographic images of wartime events of the Allied campaign for the breakthrough of the Gothic Line.
The Ethnographic Museum is housed in the rectory and other spaces adjacent to the Marian Sanctuary of Valliano. In the indoor and outdoor spaces there are exhibitions of objects that bear witness to particular aspects of the socio-economic structure of the Rimini hinterland.
