Before 1463, Domagnano was a border area and part of the eighth Gualdaria, an ancient division of the territory. Sterpeto is the birthplace of one of the first known Captains Regent, Filippo da Sterpeto. In 1892, the famous Treasure of Domagnano, a precious gold set attributable to a high-ranking Ostrogoth noblewoman, was found in Lagucci. The presence of settlements in Roman and Gothic times is also testified by the Villa di Domagnano, an archaeological site of considerable interest. A didactic arboretum has been set up in Cà Vagnetto, where it is possible to admire about 2000 plants of over 100 different species. At the Torraccia airfield, the San Marino Aeroclub offers tourist flights.
