The Sangallo Bastion, also called Baluardo del Sangallo or Polveriera, is located at the extreme eastern corner of the city.
The building is located on the east side of Piazza XX Settembre, on an area that already in Roman times had hosted important buildings. The oldest part was built at the behest of Galeotto I Malatesta after 1357 Lord of Fano.
